I had high hopes for this given it has Charlize Theron in the title role and seemed to be a sci-fi action film, but they were severely dashed.
The overall storyline is pretty basic and predictable, and there’s a lot of pretty unnecessary exposition. The action sequences are just weird; I think it’s trying to ape the style of the animated show but it really doesn’t translate properly. There’s also a bunch of inconsistencies and odd throwaway things that are presumably lifts from the TV show but just stick out like sore thumbs in the film.
